The dachshund butter dish is a Jonathan Adler classic; minimal in design, but with maximum decorative appeal.
It's also a practical way to keep your block of butter fresh, while making great dinnertime conversation. Made from high-fired stoneware with matte white glaze, the hound's top half lifts off whenever you need to use the butter within, then places right back down to protect it from intruders and the summer heat!
Like all of Adler's pottery, it's designed and prototyped by his team in their Soho studio, then hand-crafted by skilled artisans in their main workshop in Peru. Their Peruvian workshop was found through Aid to Artisans; a non-profit organisation that connects designers in America with artisans in developing countries to promote fair trade.
